Power Virtual Agents #8: Redirect the Conversation To Different Topic

Introduction

In this blog Will se how to redirect the conversation to the other Topics. This helps in reduces the number of places you keep the same information in the Bot, So we can update it one place if necessary and not worry about trying to find all the different places repeated the same information.

Smaller topics are more efficient to load into the authoring canvas.

Steps for Conversation Redirect

1. Go to https://powerva.microsoft.com/
2. Select the bot and Environment from the top right corner.

3. Click on Topics in the left pane.

4. Open the Laptop Details , the Topic we created in the previous blog https://srinathpega.com/2022/06/27/power-virtual-agents-7-build-conversation-using-variables/ from Topics List.

5. Now Click on add new node to the condition node, It will show the node options to select.

5. Select the Redirect to another topic node, It will ask to select the topic from topics list.

Creation of topic to Redirect

The new topic is created to redirect the conversation. Topic Name MackBook.

Added the Question Node to the Trigger Phrases.

Conditions are added and each condition Show a massage node is added.

6. Now add the Redirect to another topic node to the Laptop Details topic and select the topic MacBook.

7. Click on Save on top right of the authoring canvas.

Test the Topic

8. Enter Laptop in the massage and click send.

9. Select the Apple.

10. Enter the Price $ 1000 in the message and click on send. Topic will change to MacBook in the authoring Canvas.

11. Select the Option in the chat box as MacBook Pro.
